In case you were looking for a nice and photogenic place in Israel (which is not Tel Aviv), here is the city of Haifa.
I wanted to visit this city for so long and a few weeks ago it finally happened!!
I went on a sunny Saturday trip with my family :)
We had an hour and a half drive to Haifa, so we decided to stop in a forest we saw on the way, in order to eat breakfast in the wild.
We started our trip in the Bahai Gardens.
The Bahá'í Gardens in Haifa are built of nineteen terraced gardens that begin at the top of Mount Carmel and end at its foot.
In the middle of the gardens stands the golden-domed shrine of the Bab, the resting place of the prophet-herald of the Bahá'í Faith.
The gardens are beautiful and the view from above is breathtaking.
Right next to the Bahá'í gardens you can find the German Colony, a nice place full of impressive and designed-well Lebanese restaurants.
We chose to try Restaurant Fattoosh, on which I heard recommendations.
So I was not surprised to find a long queue at the entrance, which forced us to wait more than half an hour.
But I promise you that the waiting is paying off!
The place is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the food is varied and delicious.
Next, we head to the downtown city of Haifa. This is one of the most attractive pilgrimage sites in Israel.
A tour in downtown Haifa passes through neighborhoods with fascinating history, vibrant markets, excellent cafés and restaurants. Furthermore, there is an atmosphere of co-existence, among the city's population that changes its face throughout the day.
We were impressed by the colorful street art and had a little coffee break in one of the cafes there.
The sun was setting, so we decided to end the day at the Haifa port, which is not far away. We watched the sunset by the sea, what was very relaxing and calm.
